Security is one of the most important needs of every society and the first goals of forming governments. In scientific literature, the concept of "national security" has been defined in various dimensions such as economic, political, cultural, etc. This type of classification faces problems such as overlapping topics and partiality. For this reason, the current research has studied and investigated the Holy Quran and Tafsir al-Mizan with the aim of identifying the dimensions and components of the general concept of "security" and providing a new definition of this concept. In this regard, 426 verses related to the aspects of security have been analyzed in the Qur'an with the method of deliberation. The findings of the present research show that the main dimensions of security are: 1. Security in terms of threats to the individual; 2. Security in terms of relationships between people in a community; 3. Security in terms of relations between the people and the government 4. Security in terms of relations between the front of faith and the fronts of disbelief; 5. Security in terms of the relationship with the environment.
