The rapid development of urbanization has led urban communities to face, on the one hand, the deterioration of neighborhood relations and a decline in residents’ sense of security, and on the other hand, a disconnection between citizens and nature in today’s world. The aim of this study is to examine the role of nature in neighborhood interactions and its impact on the residents’ sense of security in the residential complexes of Ekbatan «Tehran», Pardisan «Qom», Zeytoon «Isfahan», and Mehregan «Qazvin».
The research method is survey-based in terms of objective and descriptive-analytical in terms of study approach. Data were collected using a researcher-made questionnaire and field observations. To assess the reliability of the study, Cronbach's alpha test was used, resulting in an overall reliability coefficient of 0.87. The validity was evaluated through content and face validity, using both qualitative reviews and quantitative measures to assess the status of nature and green spaces in the study areas.
For analyzing the collected data, statistical methods such as one-sample t-test, linear regression, and correlation analysis were employed. These methods have been validated by a panel of academic experts. The findings reveal a significant relationship between neighborhood relations and social interactions with crime rates and the sense of security among residents of the studied complexes.
